Mechanics of Israel’s Collapse

By Rabi’ al-Awwal – Sep 14, 2025Today, opponents of apartheid Israel and its backers share one rare point of agreement: since its illegitimate inception, the zionist regime has never been in as precarious a position as it has found itself in over the last two years. In July 2025, Crescent International dissected the hard data, laying bare the long term strategic variables that together form the perfect storm now engulfing zionist Israel. While long-term variables are a crucial factor in the zionist entity’s inevitable collapse, it is the tactical dimensions that attract the most attention in public discourse.Although most public discussion focuses primarily on the necessity of military dimension to free Palestine from zionism, the military front is only one tactical element contributing to Israel’s collapse. It is not the decisive factor.Palestinian and regional armed resistance will also certainly be a contributing factor. However, those clinging to a romanticized fantasy of a modern-day Salahuddin marching into al-Quds need to step outside the realm of cinema and ground their perspective in sound historical analysis. The implosion of the USSR, the downfall of apartheid South Africa, and the collapse of French rule in Algeria all illustrate that state systems unravel through a complex interplay of pressures, not only by a single heroic spectacle. At present, Israel is widely regarded as a pariah state.Even many of its western supporters are beginning to see it less as a strategic asset and more as a political liability.Israel’s moral and political costs now outweigh any neo-colonial leverage it once provided in West Asia.Norway’s $2 trillion sovereign wealth fund recently divested from 11 out of 61 Israeli firms and terminated contracts with external asset managers over concerns related to Israel’s genocidal acts in Gaza and the West Bank.Public opinion in Western Europe has hit record lows for favorable views of Israel. For example: net favourability ratings in Germany (−44), France (−48), Denmark (−54), Italy (−52), Spain (−55), and the UK (−46) are among the worst ever recorded. While these facts do not mean that western regimes will abandon support for the genocidal zionist entity. The mounting political, military, social and economic momentum against Israel, combined with the broader decline of western hegemony, however, will make it increasingly difficult for western regimes to sustain direct and mass scale support. These factors, combined with the inevitable resurgence of an Islamic Awakening 2.0, are set to generate an unprecedented wave of hostility surrounding Israel. In the best-case scenario for the regional resistance, western-backed dictatorial regimes in Jordan and Egypt will be replaced by indigenous socio-political forces similar to the one in Yemen. The chances of this scenario, however, are slim at present.Turkey Cuts All Trade Ties, Closes Airspace and Ports to Israel Over Gaza GenocideEven if this does not occur, the erosion of order in territories under pro-zionist dictatorships will create multiple ‘mini–South Lebanons’ for Israel to contend with.Given Egypt’s huge population, its maritime access, and its borders with Libya and Sudan, the logistical opportunities available to Islamic Iran and its allies would be without precedent. And even if Israel and its western backers commit fully to suppressing these emerging logistical networks, they would only entangle themselves in a widening regional war stretching from West Asia into Africa. In addition to these factors, the current generation of Muslims in West Asia and beyond—who have witnessed the world’s only live-streamed genocide carried out by the western-backed zionist regime—are far too outraged to simply forget zionist crimes or western hypocrisy. This collective anger has effectively turned the region’s demographics against Israel, stretching from Türkiye and Morocco to Pakistan and Sudan. The result is a sustained and expanding pool of fighters ready to confront Israel in a regional war that is already widening and shows no signs of ending anytime soon. The convergence of these myriad of factors—demographic pressures, international isolation, shifting regional dynamics—has collided with the valiant determination of the Palestinians, who for decades have resisted and kept their cause alive against all odds.Together, they have produced a strong force against the zionist regime, one that no amount of western backing or propaganda can contain indefinitely. The storm surrounding Israel is not a passing squall but a gathering force that points to an irreversible trajectory. (Crescent International)
