Two men who pleaded guilty to possession of large quantities of illegal drugs for the purpose of trafficking were on Monday sentenced to terms of imprisonment and ordered to pay fines after separate appearances at magistrates’ courts in Georgetown and Sparendaam.Jason Bascom appeared before Magistrate Azore at the Georgetown Magistrate’s Court and pleaded guilty to possession of 4.078kg of cannabis for the purpose of trafficking. He was sentenced to three years’ imprisonment and fined GYD$30,000.In a separate matter at the Sparendaam Magistrate’s Court, Colin Moore pleaded guilty to possession of 16.784kg of cocaine for the purpose of trafficking before Magistrate Nurse.
