(Image Source: Apple)At the recently concluded “Awe Dropping” event, Apple unveiled the iPhone Air, its slimmest smartphone to date. Unlike the iPhone 17 Pro and the iPhone 17 Pro Max, the iPhone Air has a brand new design with an elliptical Google Pixel-like camera island that spans across the width of the phone. The iPhone Air also happens to be the slimmest smartphone in the world, measuring just 5.6mm at its thinnest point. It has a 6.5-inch ProMotion XDR OLED screen, which means it will be slightly smaller than the iPhone Plus models it is replacing. The device weighs 145 grams, thanks to Apple using a grade 5 titanium frame to make it lighter, with Apple claiming that the iPhone Air is more durable than any other smartphone the company has ever made. Despite the thin design, the iPhone Air also comes with the Action button, allowing users to quickly access a variety of functions with a single press.Powered by the in-house developed A19 Pro chipset, the iPhone Air comes with up to 1TB of storage. The new slim phone also comes with Apple’s C1x modem, which it says is two times faster than the C1 modem used on the iPhone 16e. The breakthrough iPhone Air is perfect for those who want pro performance in an unbelievably thin and light design that’s more durable than any previous iPhone. The front of the phone houses an 18MP selfie camera with Center Stage support, which automatically fits everyone into a photo, meaning you won’t have to rotate the phone into landscape mode. However, Apple had to make some compromises to make the iPhone Air slimmer than any other device it has ever made. The USB-C port on the bottom isn’t centred, and the speakers have fewer cutouts. Another compromise is that the iPhone Air has no physical SIM slot but only supports eSIM.The slim profile of the iPhone Air means that Apple had to pack in a small battery, indicating the smartphone may not last a full day for moderate to heavy users. To address this issue, Apple says it introduced a new Adaptive Power Saver mode with iOS 26.Story continues below this adApple also launched a new low-profile MagSafe battery case, which could potentially help heavy users get through an entire day, a thin translucent case that is just 1mm thick and a slim and lightweight iPhone Air Bumper case available in four matching colours. The iPhone Air will be available starting September 19 and can be purchased for $999, which roughly translates to Rs 1 Lakh. It is available in four colourways – space black, cloud white, light gold and sky blue. Apple also said that the iPhone Air MagSafe Battery will be available for $99, while the iPhone Air Bumper can be purchased for $39.Meta Title :Excerpt : Apple iPhone 17 Air Launch Price, Features, Specifications:
