One Universal Studios theme park is receiving a brand-new name. The past few years have been transformative for Universal’s theme parks. In May, the company unveiled one of its most ambitious projects yet: Epic Universe. The new Orlando park features five intricately designed lands: SUPER NINTENDO WORLD, The Wizarding World of Harry Potter – Ministry of Magic, Dark Universe, How to Train Your Dragon – Isle of Berk, and the dazzling Celestial Park, which serves as the park’s hub.Credit: Andrew Boardwine, Inside the MagicEpic Universe has received rave reviews from guests, with Hiccup’s Wing Gliders, Harry Potter and the Battle at the Ministry, and Monsters Unchained: The Frankenstein Experiment attracting particular praise. Expansions are reportedly already in the pipeline, with many rooting for Wicked to inspire its next portal. But Epic Universe isn’t the only recent or upcoming jewel in Universal’s ever-growing crown. In California, Universal Studios Hollywood is in the process of constructing its first Fast & Furious-inspired roller coaster, Fast & Furious: Hollywood Drift. Meanwhile, Universal Studios Singapore debuted its own version of Minions Land earlier this year, Universal Studios Japan opened Donkey Kong Country in 2024, and Universal Kids Resort is slated to open in Texas in 2026.Credit: UniversalArguably the most-hyped addition to Universal’s roster is its upcoming theme park in the United Kingdom. Officially confirmed earlier this year, Universal plans to construct its new park in Bedfordshire, where it’s expected to generate nearly £50 billion for the economy by 2055.We’re still a long way out from knowing what to expect within the park (although recent reports suggest that Universal has managed to secure the rights for Harry Potter-inspired attractions, contrary to earlier concept art). We do, however, have a fresh update that reveals a big change for the theme park.Universal Drops Big Update For New Theme ParkAs per previous domain name registrations, it was long assumed that the theme park would be called Universal Studios Great Britain or Universal Great Britain. Now, a trademark has been filed that suggests Universal has decided to actually call the theme park Universal United Kingdom Resort.Say hello to Universal United Kingdom Resort!Say hello to Universal United Kingdom Resort! pic.twitter.com/Qw0FayMOel— Universal Studios Great Britain Updates (@USGBUpdates) September 8, 2025The trademark was officially filed on September 8.
