Walt Disney World Resort quietly tripled the size of an ongoing construction project at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park, and Disney Parks fans are wondering whether to be concerned about the final product. On September 8, WDWNT reported that crews had officially installed the sign for “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”, a new show coming to the Tree of Life Theater on Discovery Island at Disney’s Animal Kingdom Theme Park. Guests will join the queue at the same entrance as the former It’s Tough To Be A Bug! show, which closed on March 16, 2025, after nearly 27 years at Walt Disney World Resort.Credit: DisneyAs with most Disney Park projects, crews covered the “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” sign with a black tarp–it towered above the existing construction walls and other barricades. The only hint at its design was some black poles poking out of the tarp, suggesting that some decorative features had yet to be installed on the sign.Nearly a week later, Disney has tripled down on the barricades around the “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!” entrance. On September 13, X (formerly known as Twitter) user @evanpatel11 shared this photo showing that bulky scaffolding covered with tan scrim now surrounds the entire entrance, including the sign:The scrim up around the new Zootopia marquee is insane… somehow it like tripled in size and is absolutely huge now. The grand opening coincides with the theatrical release of Zootopia 2 on November 26, 2025. When the attraction opens, Nick and Judy Hopps will meet guests in their sequel-inspired outfits at a new spot near the Tree of Life.Credit: DisneyGuests will join their favorite Zootopia (2016) characters in celebrating Zootopia Day, with several animal performances (including the iconic Gazelle). The original voice of Judy Hopps (Ginnifer Goodwin) will reprise her role for a brand-new song in the 3-D show. Early concept art hints that the attraction may feature an advanced Clawhauser audio-animatronic, like the one in Zootopia: Hot Pursuit at Shanghai Disneyland.Do you agree with Walt Disney World Resort’s decision to replace It’s Tough To Be A Bug! with “Zootopia: Better Zoogether!”?
