The alert level at Fuego was unavailable or not collected. There were explosions reported, occurring at a rate of up to 12 per hour, with plumes rising to a maximum of 1,037 meters (3,402 feet) above the vent. There were observed incandescent rockfalls. Incandescent material was ejected in pulses up to 300 meters above the vent during the night. Explosions were occasionally accompanied by rumbling sounds. Fine ashfall was reported in Panimaché Uno and Panimaché Dos (8 km SW), Morelia (10 km SW), Santa Sofía (15 km SW), and other nearby communities.
