The press briefing came a day after the Congress high command, including Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, met leaders from Bihar.Just days after two new parties joined the grand alliance in Bihar, Congress Wednesday said that to accommodate new allies all parties should be willing to give up seats from their kitty and that a balance between “good” and “bad” seats must be maintained. The comments from the Congress came amid talks for including the Hemant Soren-led JMM and Pashupati Kumar Paras’ RLJP in the grand alliance for the Bihar Assembly polls. At a joint press conference at the Congress headquarters in Delhi along with Bihar Congress president Rajesh Ram and Congress Legislature Party Leader Shakeel Ahmad Khan, AICC Bihar in-charge Krishna Allavaru said: “As far as seat sharing is concerned, we don’t think we should get more or less seats. We have been saying from the beginning that if new parties join the alliance, then all partners will have to contribute seats from their kitty and only then, new partners will be accommodated.”He added: “The second thing is that there are good and bad seats in every state. And it shouldn’t be that one party gets all the good seats, and another gets bad seats. In seat sharing, there should be a balance between good and bad seats. The last thing is that our efforts is to ensure that seat sharing moves forward in time and we have been successful in this.”Hitting out at PM Narendra Modi and Union Home Minister Amit Shah, Allavaru claimed that a “definite process for vote theft” was being followed under which “they first fix the umpires and then give the umpire the confidence that no action would be taken against them”.The press briefing came a day after the Congress high command, including Congress chief Mallikarjun Kharge and Lok Sabha Leader of Opposition Rahul Gandhi, met leaders from Bihar.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt Ltd
