Written by Hina RohtakiChandigarh | September 15, 2025 05:19 PM IST 2 min readThe Haryana Government has sent a fresh panel of HCS officers to the Chandigarh administration for deputation.Haryana Civil Service (HCS) officer Dr Richa was sent back to her parent cadre of Haryana by the Chandigarh administration Monday, almost eight months after joining the Union Territory on deputation, at her request.“The Administrator, U.T. Chandigarh, is pleased to relieve Dr. Richa, HCS, Registrar Cooperative Societies, U.T. Chandigarh, from Chandigarh Administration w.e.f. 15.09.2025 (forenoon) to enable her to join her parent State of Haryana,” the Chandigarh administration said in an order.When asked, Dr Richa said she is going back due to “family reasons”. Sources said she had written to the UT administration to send her back to her parent state of Haryana.Richa was serving as the additional director, Higher Education; joint secretary, Urban Planning and Metro and Housing. She had also been given the charge of director, Food and Supplies, Consumer Affairs and Legal Metrology, as well as that of joint secretary, Food and Supplies, other than Registrar of cooperative societies.Haryana to send a panelThe Haryana Government has sent a fresh panel of HCS officers to the Chandigarh administration for deputation. The officer whom the panel will select will replace Richa. The panel includes HCS officers Bhupinder Singh, Inderjeet Singh, and Kamalpreet Kaur.While Kaur is a 2011-batch officer, Bhupinder Singh and Inderjeet Singh are both from the 2016 batch. Once a name is finalised for the deputation, it will go to the Chandigarh administrator for final approval. An officer’s name is finalised based on their work experience and administrative qualities.Other HCS officersIt is not the first time that an HCS officer has sought premature repatriation. Shashi Vasundhara, 2016 batch HCS officer, also expressed her willingness to go back to Haryana. She was serving as the joint commissioner in the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation.Story continues below this adSimilarly, Shalini Chetal returned to Haryana while serving as the joint commissioner of the Chandigarh Municipal Corporation, and Shambhu Rathi also returned to his parent cadre.
