For the latest episode of her YouTube series, filmmaker-choreographer Farah Khan travelled to Haridwar to meet yoga guru and Patanjali co-founder Baba Ramdev. No chemicals have been used to build them.” Baba Ramdev’s living room. (Photo: Farah Khan/YouTube)Inside, Farah noticed the sandalwood-like fragrance. Ramdev explained it was from devdaru wood, clarifying when she misunderstood “daru” as alcohol. She admired the rustic bedroom, where Ramdev said guests of high spiritual standing stayed. He then revealed his prized possession—a traditional kamandal worth Rs 1 lakh. Farah joked, “Ameesha Patel, are you watching? This is the bag you need to get!” Baba Ramdev’s bedroom. (Photo: Farah Khan/YouTube)Despite the comforts around, Ramdev said he personally sleeps on a simple mat on the floor, a practice he has followed for 30 years. “I joined Gurukul at 14, bringing bhiksha for nearly 40 people. Since then, sleeping on the ground and living simply has been my way,” he explained. Farah was surprised that even with a large bedroom, he preferred the floor. Room dedicated for Shiv puja.
