It really is. Dinner and boardgames on a work night are not essential to life. You can keep them til the weekend. If one of you had an early shift the following morning, would they be there? Do any of you have primary school or younger aged children? If somebody was on nightshift at the hospital or fire station, would they be expected to prioritise games night over work? Of course not. These are very, very easy things to give up to keep your employment, especially with three nights and days off a week. They are not essentials, and if you really can’t do without then you adjust them, given you are presumably an adult. Meet earlier. Skip dinner and go straight to the game. Leave the bar at 11pm. You’ll learn.
