The man who sustained injuries is undergoing treatment and police have charged the accused with attempt to culpable homicide.According to police, driver Bhavika Dama (30) and her friends, Koran Bhanushali (30) and Aniket Bansode who were in the vehicle, were arrested.The three were produced before the court on Sunday and remanded in police custody for two days, an officer said. Police sought their custodial interrogation and are awaiting their blood report to find alcohol content.The officer added that apart from other sections related to drunk driving, they also added section 110 of the Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita that relates to attempt to culpable homicide.“While prime facie the accused appeared drunk, we also found some alcohol bottles in the car based on which the section was added,” police said.The incident took place around 6.15 am on Saturday on the LBS Road in Ghatkopar when Dama lost control of the vehicle, which then climbed on the pavement and injured the pavement dweller.Prima facie, Dama and Bhanushali consumed alcohol at the former’s residence and were driving out to have breakfast with Bansode when the incident took place, police said.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:ghatkopar
