Moments before administering the Oath of Office to his new Cabinet on Saturday evening at State House, President Dr Mohamed Irfaan Ali laid out a bold projection for the next five years, stressing that his government will be “results-driven, people-centred and efficient” in delivering services to every Guyanese household.Dr Ali, re-elected at the September 1 General and Regional Elections, said the work ahead must be grounded in agility, speed, and relentless hard work to meet the magnitude of the tasks before government.“The next five years are the most decisive years for our country. They must be years of results, years of transformation, years in which every family, community and citizen experiences a better quality of life,” President Ali told the packed gathering. He underscored that the new Cabinet has been carefully crafted to balance experience with youthful energy, gender representation, ethnic diversity and technical expertise.“Appointments were not made lightly. They were never about competition but about complementarity—about who can deliver, who can act decisively, who can move this government’s agenda forward without delay,” the Head of State said.Among the new faces entering the Cabinet are Keoma Griffith, Sarah Browne, Vanessa Benn, Madanlall Ramraj, Vickash Ramkissoon, Zulfikar Ally, and Steven Jacobs. They join seasoned ministers and returning members in what Dr Ali described as a “team of action, ready to deliver.”He noted that the public service will operate under continuous assessment, with changes made where necessary to ensure efficiency and accountability. “The measuring stick is clear: results, people, efficiency, transparency, and delivery,” he said.President Ali reiterated that the business of governance cannot be hampered by division, ego, or delay. “This government is not about power. Those who wish to exercise power will find themselves out of a job. Our mandate is service, and nothing less,” he declared. He pledged to lead by example from the Office of the President, supported by Prime Minister Brigadier (Ret’d) Mark Phillips and Vice President Bharrat Jagdeo, as the administration accelerates its transformative agenda.“Our people deserve leadership that is unified and focused. The burdens of governance are heavy, but I have assembled a team that I know can be effective, successful, and deliver to our people,” the President affirmed. The post President Ali sets results-driven agenda as the new Cabinet is sworn in  appeared first on News Room Guyana.
