Bigg Boss 19’s Tanya Mittal started her business with Rs 500; sold gold jewellery, 3 iPhones to pay employees: ‘I want to be like Mother Teresa’

Tanya Mittal, who is currently a participant on Bigg Boss 19, generated a lot of interest on social media as she opened up about her life where everyone calls her ‘boss’ and how she is always surrounded by 150 bodyguards. In an earlier interview, Tanya shared how she started her entrepreneurial journey with Rs 500, and eventually went on to establishing a saree company which now exports her garments to seven countries.In a chat with NewScoop’s YouTube channel, Tanya shared that she was an architecture student in Chandigarh when she would have sleepless nights as she envisioned herself helping lakhs of people. “I used to have dreams that I am helping lakhs of people. I used to tell my family that I want to leave my education and I want to help people. I want to be like Mother Teresa. It was so unrealistic that no one believed me,” she said.Tanya shared that she left her education at 19 and moved back home to Gwalior where she was mocked by her relatives, and was asked to get married. She wasn’t allowed to get a job as she did not have any education. Tanya had Rs 500 in her pocket so she decided to start a business with that. She bought some art supplies, and started a new Instagram account where she posted pictures of handmade greeting cards. She got her first order within a week but never got paid for it. Soon enough, she got 6.5 lakh followers, but after her Instagram got hacked, she lost all of her followers. Tanya couldn’t even register a complaint with the cyber cell as hers wasn’t a registered company. Now, she was strapped for cash, and had to pay her employees. “I started making 25 reels a day. I sold all my gold jewellery and paid salaries,” she recalled as she added that she also sold her three iPhones.Tanya said that she worked hard and eventually got a factory for her clothing business. “Now we are exporting sarees to seven countries,” she said. Tanya shared that she is a hardworking business person and sleeps for only three hours a day.
