The doctor, booked for sexual harassment, was arrested and later released on bail by the court, police said.Officers said the doctor, Mohammad Imran, was arrested following a complaint filed by the victim’s sister at Burari police station.In her statement to the police, the victim, a resident of North Delhi, allegedly said that she had visited the hospital at Kaushik Enclave for treatment for a lump in her chest. She told the police that while a female doctor was examining her, Imran entered the room and touched her chest without her permission.“Later, Imran allegedly sent her to the hospital’s basement to get an X-ray done. There, Imran allegedly followed her and wanted to check her lump again. When she refused, he tried to comfort her and gave her his cellphone number. Following this, he allegedly touched her inappropriately… and again touched her chest… She managed to run away by taking the lift,” said an officer.Later, the woman narrated her ordeal to her family members, who approached the police and a case was registered.Police said the doctor joined the probe on Wednesday after he was served a notice.When contacted, Burari hospital MD Hema Malik said, “It’s a serious matter and under investigation.
