Prime Minister Robert Abela fired an early shot against his new opponent Alex Borg, accusing him of indecisiveness and claiming that most PN tesserati didn’t vote for him to become their leader.“After several hours, the PN has appointed their third official leader in five years, besides the real leaders who truly lead behind the scenes,” Abela told his supporters on Sunday.“I congratulate Alex Borg, as well as Adrian Delia for holding him to a draw. However, both candidates were the PN’s second preferences because they all wanted someone else [Roberta Metsola] as leader.”He said that Borg’s slim margin of victory over Delia, coupled with the fact that some 3,000 tesserati stayed at home, means that “60% of tesserati didn’t vote for Alex Borg”. The PN doesn’t even know who it wants to lead it, let alone what it stands for.”Abela also accused both Borg and Delia of “indecisiveness” when they were absent from a parliamentary vote on a tax reform.“For reasons that they alone know, they abdicated their responsibility and didn’t go to Parliament to vote and take a position, which is typical of the new Opposition Leader.”“He is an Opposition Leader who doesn’t take a position and, after yesterday, he hasn’t even been approved.”(Photo Left: Credit – Partit Nazzjonalista, Photo Right: Credit – Partit Laburista)•
