Despite this, the staff of the school have not attended the training organised for election work till date.“As this has caused obstruction in the election process, Assistant Municipal Commissioner Sandeep Rokade has registered an offence against 80 staff members of the school in Dombivli, under section 223 of Bharatiya Nyaya Sanhita, 2023,” stated the note shared by the KDMC.It further stated that Municipal Commissioner and Election Officer Abhinav Goyal has also warned that legal action will be taken against officers and employees appointed for election duties on January 15 and 16, if they remain absent. An official from KDMC said, “Notices are sent to individuals not reporting to election duty. Most of them report to duty after receiving notices. But a strict action was taken in the case of the staff of this particular school because they collectively did not report to election duty and 80-members is a big group.”The MBMC has registered a criminal case against a total 113 staff members from a private English medium school located in Mira Road, also for not reporting to mandatory election duty, despite reminders.“After action is taken, some of them have now reported that they will be present for the poll-duty,” said an official from the MBMC.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt Ltd
