On Monday, Disneyland Resort announced that it was replacing the Downtown Disney logo as part of the shopping, dining, and entertainment district’s 25th anniversary celebrations. However, unlike its Central Florida counterpart, the Southern California version is within walking distance of Disneyland Park, Disney California Adventure Park, the Disneyland Hotel, Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa, and the Pixar Place Hotel. As part of Disneyland Resort’s largest-ever expansion project, the lifestyle center opened in January 2001, days after Disney’s Grand Californian Hotel & Spa. Disney California Adventure Park opened weeks later, on February 8, 2001.
