Chandigarh State Consumer Commission has ruled that restaurants cannot charge more than the Maximum Retail Price (MRP) for packaged water. A diner won a case against a restaurant for charging Rs 55 for a Rs 20 water bottle. The commission ordered the restaurant to refund the excess amount and pay Rs 3,000 in compensation for unfair trade practice.
