Two men have been arrested after Police ranks found 21.5 kilograms (or about 47 pounds) of cannabis in a car on Thursday.According to a Police release, the cannabis was found at about 09:00 hrs during a Police operation along Strathspey Public Road, East Demerara.During the patrol, ranks intercepted a motorcar driven by a 35-year-old man from Glasgow Village, East Bank Berbice, with a 31-year-old male passenger, a construction worker from Heathburn, East Bank Berbice.A search of the trunk of the said motor car revealed one bulky bag containing two bulky plastic-wrapped parcels, each containing leaves, seeds, and stems suspected to be cannabis.The driver and passenger were both told of the offence committed, cautioned, arrested, and taken into custody. They were escorted to the Cove and John Police Station along with the suspected narcotics and vehicle. The suspected narcotics, when weighed, amounted to 21.5 kilograms.
