The mom is an idiot and disingenuous. The advice I’d give to the 16 year old is get a part time job 2-3 days a week as a cashier at chain restaurant after school. They hire 16 year olds for that job, you get free food and you get a little paycheck every 2 weeks. Time to grow up early and circumnavigate mommy dearest.
