The Pokemon Company International confirmed the monochromatic 1996 Style Pikachu plush merchandise will appear at the Pokemon Center outside Japan. The official social media account confirmed it. Neither the Pikachu stuffed animal or keychain is showing up on the North American site yet, but both are already available in Japan. Each of these plush is based on the original chonky Pikachu that appeared in Pokemon Red, Blue, and Green, and as such the two pieces of merchandise feature the same monochromatic green color scheme and pixelated elements to their designs. The standard stuffed animal is about seven inches tall, while the full keychain is around four inches. The larger plush toy is fully 3D, while the keychain is more flat like an in-game sprite. US prices aren’t set, but the larger toy is 3,300円 (~$21) in Japan and keychain is 880円 (~$5.60).Here’s how those two look:Image via The Pokemon Company InternationalThis is one of many pieces of original Pikachu merchandise to show up alongside the 30th anniversary.
