The industrial fire in Dingli has now been successfully extinguished, with authorities confirming that the situation is fully under control and no injuries were reported.The blaze, which broke out earlier in the day, prompted a large-scale response from the Civil Protection Department. Firefighters worked for hours to contain and extinguish the flames, which had sent thick black smoke rising into the air from the affected quarry area.According to the Civil Protection Department, the emergency response involved significant resources and personnel. In total, firefighters used around 190,000 litres of water and 5,000 litres of foam to bring the fire under control.The operation involved 34 firefighters, supported by six Senior Fire Officers and 14 fire appliances deployed to the scene.Authorities had earlier urged the public to avoid the area while emergency operations were underway, with residents in Dingli and nearby Rabat advised to keep doors and windows closed as a precaution due to smoke and fumes.Following the successful operation, the Civil Protection Department expressed its gratitude to the various entities that assisted during the incident, including the Mater Dei Hospital Emergency Department, the Malta Police Force and Transport Malta for their support and cooperation throughout the response.Authorities confirmed that the situation has now been stabilised, bringing the emergency operation to a close.•
