normalnormalnormalThe two-day Rajesh Puri Memorial Inter-House Cricket Tournament 2026, organised by the Old Sanawarian Society(OSS) —the alumni association of the prestigious Sanawar School—kicked off at the PCA Stadium, Mullanpur near Chandigarh.Notably, the tournament is being supported by the region’s well-known corporate GB Realty under the aegis of its sports vertical GB Legend.In the first match of the day, Siwalik House played against Nilagiri House. Batting first, Siwalik House posted 172/4 in 15 overs. Rehan Verma top-scored for his team with a fluent 52 off 27 balls, striking 10 boundaries. For Nilagiri House, Shaurya Mehta was the pick of the bowlers, claiming two wickets in his three-over spell for 23 runs.In response, Nilagiri House was restricted to 137/3 by a disciplined bowling attack from Siwalik House, which secured a 35-run victory for the latter. Gurjot Singh Thind scored 50 off 32 balls, while Mayank Oberoi contributed 34 off 24 balls for Nilagiri House. In the bowling department for Siwalik, Sultan Singh Sangha took 2 wickets in 3 overs by giving away just 15 runs, this spell helped Siwalik restrict Nilagiri’s scorecard.For his impressive bowling performance, Sultaan Singh Sangha of Siwalik House was adjudged the Player of the Match.In the second match of the day, Vindhya House outclassed Himalaya House in a one-sided contest. Batting first, Vindhya posted a formidable 194/1 in the allotted 15 overs. Siddarth Ahuja played a scintillating knock of 53 not out – off just 13 balls, while Partap Bajwa added 50 off 36 balls.In reply, Himalaya House could muster only 129/3. Akim Sohal with 48 was the highest run-getter for the side. For Vindhya House, bowlers Revan Gupta, Pratham Kalta, and Raghav Karol picked up one wicket each.Siddarth Ahuja was named the Player of the Match for his explosive batting performance.The third and last match of the day was played between Nilagiri and Vindhya Houses.  Nilagiri batting first put up 161/6 in the allotted 15 overs. Raobrinder Sidhu scored 50 off 33 balls hitting 7 fours and one 6. Shaurya Mehta scored 30 off 20 balls hitting 5 fours. In the bowling department for Vindhya, Aayush Parakh took 2 wickets in his two over spell giving away17 runs.In response Vindhya was able to score just 112 runs for the loss of 7 wickets. Revant Gupta scored 28 runs off 16 balls with 2 fours and a similar number of sixers.
