Leicester City’s dismal Championship season reached a new low on Saturday, despite holding onto a 1-1 draw with Ipswich. The Foxes claimed a potentially crucial point at Portman Road amid their relegation battle at the bottom of the second tier.Leicester led at Ipswich but they were unable to hold on to a crucial winGettyA first-half goal from Patson Daka put Gary Rowett’s side in front as they searched for their first win since January 5.However, a 74th-minute equaliser from Sindre Walle Egeli denied them a much-needed victory on the road.Ipswich had 13 shots in the second half of the game, piling pressure on after scoring their goal, but they were unable to net a winner. The result alone for Leicester was a largely positive one, although just by conceding a goal, they reached a new low.By letting Egeli score, their atrocious streak of games without a clean sheet reached a whopping 30 in a row. They have not kept a clean sheet in the Championship since a goalless draw against Frank Lampard‘s Coventry City on September 20.The last team at any level to go 30 games in one season without a shutout was Wolves in 2011-12 in the Premier League.Meanwhile, outside the top flight, the most recent team to do so was Colchester United in the second tier in 2007-08. Colchester had to wait 38 games to shut their opponent out.It means Leicester have now equalled an unwanted 18-year record as their woes this season continue to increase.Daka put Leicester in front but they conceded yet again at Portman RoadGettyAnd conceding again saw them extend their unwanted streak to 30 gamesGettyRelegation battleLeicester sacked manager Marti Cifuentes in January, with club legend Andy King placed in interim charge. But during that time under King, the Foxes lost every game.Eventually, they appointed Rowett to try and save them, however, after four games, they still haven’t picked up a win. There has been an improvement in results though, as Leicester have drawn three and lost one of those outings.Their latest draw with Ipswich moved them from 23rd to 22nd in the Championship, but they’re still in the relegation zone. And now only one point separates rivals Oxford United, the Foxes and West Brom in the tense battle at the bottom.Leicester are in the relegation zone and could be set to drop down to League OneGettyFoxes fans protestAmid their woeful campaign, some Leicester fans have taken a stance against the club’s ownership in recent weeks. The Foxes were deducted six points last month due to breaching financial rules, leaving them in a dire position. And now a drop to League One could be on the cards, exactly 10 years on from the year they won the Premier League. To speak out against that collapse and target their ownership, fans joined for a protest before their clash with Norwich last week.It is now planned for that to be repeated on Saturday, March 14, ahead of their meeting with Queens Park Rangers.A group named ‘Unite for Change’ posted: “On 14th March, we’ll protest again to protect the future of our club. Top’s King Power are not fit for purpose. Back the team, not the regime.”
