The Walt Disney Company and its subsidiary, ESPN, are in hot water with conservatives, as a report has surfaced on social media that ESPN personality Paul Finebaum has been removed from the airwaves after he announced last week that he was considering running for a vacant Senate seat in Alabama as a Republican. The seat is being vacated by former Auburn head football coach Tommy Tuberville, who is stepping down to run for governor of Alabama. Finebaum told Travis, “Alabama has always been the place I’ve felt the most welcome, that I’ve cared the most about the people. I’ve spoken to people from Alabama for 35 years, and I feel there is a connection that is hard to explain.”Credit: ESPNEarlier today, Travis took to social media, accusing ESPN of removing Finebaum from its network after he teased his Senate run as a Republican. Bill Hofheimer, a spokesman for ESPN, responded that Travis’s statement was “totally false,” and none of what he wrote on social media “was true.” Finebaum has been a staple of college football, especially the SEC, on ESPN for the past decade. Rumors started spreading that Disney had removed Finebaum after he did not appear on the network on Sunday or Monday, which he has done for the past decade to comment on college football. This is not true at all. The below is TOTALLY FALSE. https://t.co/nmnBA9mj13— bill hofheimer (@bhofheimer_espn) October 6, 2025This news comes at a bad time for Disney, which is already in hot water with conservatives after it reinstated late-night host Jimmy Kimmel. Kimmel was removed from ABC for three shows after he made comments about the death of Charlie Kirk. Disney needs the Trump Administration’s support for its multi-billion-dollar deal with the NFL. The deal will require the approval of the FCC and the DOJ to proceed, neither of which is guaranteed after Disney angered Trump by reinstating Kimmel. Why do you think Paul Finebaum has been off the airwaves at ESPN? Let us know in the comments.
