We exclusively reported yesterday that Samsung will begin the One UI 8.5 Beta Program next month. Ahead of the beta release, several One UI 8.5 features have leaked, and we’ve reported most of them. We have now discovered a new feature that allows users to filter unwanted calls. One UI 8.5 to bring improved Call Assist, powered by Galaxy AIIn One UI 8.0, a phone with Galaxy AI’s Call Assist feature can act on your behalf to ask the caller why they called. It can also use Live Translate to translate voice from one language to another and offer real-time transcription. However, you had to manually activate Text Call. Upon reviewing One UI 8.5 firmware files, we discovered an improved version of Call Assist that can now start call screening on its own, saving you even more time. One UI 8.5 has a new feature named Auto Answer with AI in the Call Assist section. It can help you manage calls when you are too busy to attend them. It can ask the caller why they've called, note down what they say, and may also tell them that you will get back to them later. You can select a particular time after your phone starts ringing that Auto Answer with AI activates. For example, you can set it to activate 20 seconds after the phone starts ringing. You can change those settings as per your preferences. You can also set what type of calls you want Auto Answer with AI to attend. For example, you can just let it attend scam and spam calls (identified with built-in call filtering) rather than answering all calls so that people who actually know you don't have to face the AI's voice. You can also set if the feature can activate in Do Not Disturb mode. This feature is similar to Google's Call Screen feature that is available on some Pixel smartphones. Samsung says that what the caller says during the call is sent to Samsung's server for processing so that the phone can provide appropriate responses, but the data is not stored there.Samsung could explain more about this upcoming feature when it opens the One UI 8.5 Beta Program in late November. However, there is a chance that this feature stays exclusive to the Galaxy S26 series, which will be launched early next year. Hopefully, that isn't the case. The post A detailed look at how One UI 8.5 could help you filter unwanted calls appeared first on SamMobile.
