A Disneyland Resort guest was transported to a local hospital after the Anaheim Fire Department responded to a “hazmat threat to life” at Pixar Place Hotel.Disneyland Resort’s Pixar Pier Hotel reopened in 2024 after its reimagining from Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, following the transformation of Paradise Pier to Pixar Pier at Disney California Adventure Park. But this was hardly the first overhaul for this Disney Resort hotel. The property originally opened in 1984 as the Emerald Hotel of Anaheim and was renamed to The Pan Pacific Hotel Anaheim in 1989. In the mid-1990s, Disneyland Resort purchased the hotel and renamed it the Disneyland Pacific Hotel. In 2000, it became Disney’s Paradise Pier Hotel, named after the theme park land that would open alongside Disney California Adventure Park in 2001.Credit: DisneyAlmost two years after Pixar Pier Hotel’s latest reimagining, the Anaheim Fire Department responded to a reported “hazmat incident” at the Disneyland Resort hotel. Minutes after the emergency response, Redditor u/Old-Illustrator-5246 shared a screenshot of a scanner app showing the publicly available information about the incident on September 29.what happened at pixar place hotel. However, YouTube channel OC LOWDOWN eventually released the following video on the incident, including an interview with Anaheim Fire and Rescue Captain Michel Bowidowicz:According to Captain Bowidowicz, only one guest was taken to the hospital following the “hazmat threat to life” at the Pixar Place Hotel. The Anaheim Firefighter explained that the Disneyland Resort hotel guest had reportedly called authorities at around 4:30 p.m. on September 29, 2025.“[We] dispatched a full hazmat response to this location where we found one patient that inhaled some bleach fumes, and we have transported the one patient off scene,” Bowidowicz explained. The bleach fumes reportedly resulted from Disney cast members cleaning a restaurant at the Pixar Place Hotel. Captain Bowidowicz confirmed that the fumes “can be” very toxic when inhaled. However, the Anaheim Fire Department didn’t have to ventilate the space before it could safely reopen to Disneyland Resort guests.Credit: Disney“Our units on scene monitored the air,” Bowidowicz said. “There is no more hazard. Natural ventilation took over.”Disneyland Resort security handled the necessary evacuations while the Anaheim Fire Department investigated the incident. However, all impacted areas have since reopened, and there is no active threat to guests at the Pixar Place Hotel. The hospitalized guest’s condition is unknown. What’s the most unusual thing that’s ever happened during your Disneyland Resort or Walt Disney World Resort vacation?
