Apart from Mahanta, Garg’s manager Siddharth Sharma and musicians Shekharjyoti Goswami and Amritprava Mahanta, who were on the yacht at the time of the incident, were also arrested in the case. The case, being probed by the Crime Investigation Department, was registered under sections of the BNS pertaining to murder, criminal conspiracy, culpable homicide, and causing death by negligence.Following the arrests, the Assam government has been pushing for eight members of the Assam Association Singapore, who organised the yacht outing, to appear before the CID as part of the investigation. On Monday, Sarma said that one of the members, Rupkamal Kalita, has responded to the summons and is expected to appear before the CID in Guwahati on Tuesday.“Tomorrow, one Assamese from Singapore, Rupkamal Kalita, is coming, is what we have been informed. So, I expect that they will come one by one. The rest have not said that they will come, but we have kept up the pressure…,” the CM said.“Singapore police will share what they get. No foreign police will allow another country’s police to investigate. That will be an infringement of sovereignty. Our request for legal assistance is pending with Singapore. Whatever Singapore will collect, or whatever investigation they have done, I think under the Mutual Legal Assistance Treaty, they will share with us,” said Sarma.Stay updated with the latest - Click here to follow us on Instagram© The Indian Express Pvt LtdTags:Himanta Biswa SarmaZubeen Garg
