The Kochi Corporation will organise a mega job fair aimed at addressing joblessness in the city and labour shortage experienced by the industrial sector towards the end of this month.The decision was taken at a meeting chaired by Mayor M. Anilkumar on Friday (October 10, 2025). Vijnana Keralam Janakiya Campaign chief advisor T.M. Thomas Isaac was the chief guest. He drew attention to the need to improve women’s participation in the labour sector and skill development. Industrial organisations like the Federation of Indian Chambers of Commerce and Industry and Textile Association pledged full support for the initiative while ruing the acute labour shortage being experienced.A special portal was launched for the job fair. The meeting decided to organise campaigns focussed on colleges in the city and to register job aspirants with the help of Kudumbashree neighbourhood groups.Companies from Information Technology, hospitality, textile, banking and retail sectors are expected to participate in the fair.
