Karnataka State Dr. Gangubai Hangal Music and Performing Arts University, Mysuru, on Friday entered into a memorandum of understanding (MoU) with eight more educational institutions for the academic year 2025–26.With this, a total of 84 institutions in the State have now signed MoUs with the university - 76 earlier and eight more on Friday. The MoUs were signed in the presence of Vice-Chancellor Nagesh V. Bettakote.The institutions that have signed MoUs include Shri Ananteshwara Trust, Mysuru (for Diploma Course in Sugama Sangeetha); Navodaya Vikas Trust, Mysuru, (Diploma in Hindustani Music, Harmonium, and Keyboard); Yakshagana Kala Kendra, Udupi, (Diploma in Yakshagana, Certificate in Bhakti Sangeetha); Veerashaiva Vidya Samsthe, Chikkodi, (Certificate Course in Hindustani Music); Mehati Vidya Samsthe, Davangere, (Post-Graduate Degree in Music); Shri Krishna Kalalaya, Bengaluru, (Diploma and Certificate Courses in Bharatanatyam); Samruddhi Sangeetha Shale, Bengaluru, (Diploma and Certificate Courses in Sugama Sangeetha); and M.E.S. Kalavedi, Bengaluru, (Diploma, Certificate, and Research Courses).The university has entered into MoUs with 84 institutions in the State since 2023.“The university aims to promote and preserve performing arts by establishing centres in the State and providing academic and practical training in various art forms,” said the Vice-Chancellor, after the MoU-signing event held on the university campus.Published - October 10, 2025 06:28 pm IST
