ARSENAL are considering playing games at Wembley Stadium as they plot a sensational stadium expansion plan, reports suggest.The Gunners currently play at the 60,700-capacity Emirates Stadium.ReutersArsenal are plotting an incredible stadium expansion[/caption]GettyIt could see Arsenal move to Wembley to play some games[/caption]But according to new plans outlined by The Telegraph, the north London side want to increase its size to beyond 70,000.Plans for the expansion include changing the gradient of the stands and adapting the seating plan to fit more fans.The plan is understood to have gathered pace this year, and it is hoped that as well as going some way to alleviating the club’s long waiting-list for season tickets, it would also add tens of millions in annual revenue.More than 100,000 fans are said to be on the club’s waiting list for season tickets – which would take an estimated 20 years to clear.When the £390m Emirates opened its doors in July 2006, it was London’s largest stadium.The new Wembley opened with 90,000 seats the following year, though Arsenal remained top dog among clubs.However, in the last decade they have lost that title to both West Ham and bitter rivals Tottenham.The Hammers moved into the 62,500-seater London Stadium from Upton Park in 2016.BEST ONLINE CASINOS – TOP SITES IN THE UKMeanwhile, Spurs completed construction of the Tottenham Hotspur Stadium in 2019.The £1billion ground is currently the largest football club stadium in the capital with 62,850.
