A desperate search is underway in Philadelphia after Kada Scott, 23, vanished in the middle of her overnight shift at an assisted living facility. Her family and police say Scott had recently told friends she was being harassed by unknown individuals before she disappeared. Scott was last seen on October 4, 2025, as she left home around 9:45 p.m. to begin her 10 p.m. to 6 a.m. shift at The Terrace at Chestnut Hill, an assisted living and senior home in Philadelphia’s Chestnut Hill area. According to Philadelphia police and her family, Scott arrived at the facility, then soon after departed. Her car, however, remained parked in the facility’s lot. Authorities say there has been no phone activity, no social media posts, and no contact with friends or relatives since her disappearance. Her disappearance is considered out of character by her family, who say she always stayed in contact and would never vanish without warning. What happened to Kada Scott? She would never shut off her phone and not call anyone.”1/2 pic.twitter.com/acoHmCB7Zx— Steve Keeley (@KeeleyFox29) October 8, 2025 Crucially, in the days before her disappearance, Scott allegedly told family and friends she was being harassed via phone by someone or some group she could not name, according to local news outlet WPVI. Captain John Craig of Philadelphia’s Northwest Detectives confirmed that investigators are working to verify those claims and attempting to identify the person or persons behind the alleged harassment. Scott’s car, recovered in the facility’s lot, is being processed for evidence. Scott’s mother, Kim Matthews, said Scott had not given names or details. Investigators are examining her phone records, social media, surveillance footage in surrounding areas, and any communications that might yield clues. At this time, there’s no confirmed suspect, and police have said they don’t yet know whether the harassment was from a stranger or someone Scott knew. Philadelphia authorities have deployed K-9 units, helicopters, and conducted extensive canvassing of the neighborhoods surrounding Chestnut Hill. They are also interviewing Scott’s friends, coworkers, and anyone close to her to reconstruct her last interactions. The assisted living facility’s operator, Bridge Senior Living, issued a statement confirming cooperation with law enforcement but declined to share further details pending the ongoing investigation. Scott is described as about 5 ft 6 in, 120 lbs, with a thin build. Philadelphia police are urging anyone with information — no matter how small — to contact them at 215-686-TIPS (8477) or to submit an anonymous tip online.
