This Friday 10th October, World Mental Health Day will be marked with ‘Nitkellem’, a festival at Fort St Elmo in Valletta that will transform the historic site into a space for reflection, learning, and wellbeing.The event is being led by Dr Lydia Abela in collaboration with the Government of Malta.The initiative aims to promote greater awareness and understanding of mental health while challenging stigma and offering practical tools for a healthier mind.The day will be packed with activities for everyone. From 9.00am to noon, students can take part in an interactive journey, turning their thoughts and emotions into words, sounds, and stories.Informal discussions will follow until 3.00pm, covering the impact of relationships, art, culture, and food on mental health. At 3.00pm, swimmer Neil Agius will lead a breath-work session designed to teach skills for both personal and professional wellbeing.The entire morning and afternoon program is open to the public.The evening will feature a national conference on mental health and wellbeing at 5.00pm, bringing together professionals, activists, and experts to share experiences and ideas for moving forward.To close the day, Kelma Kelma Nota Nota will perform the concert ‘Tesaġerax!
