A bus driver has been sacked after wearing a Liverpool shirt behind the wheel following the Reds’ loss to Chelsea.Isaac (who did not want to provide his surname) was spotted by supporters outside Stamford Bridge following Saturday’s Premier League clash. The railway replacement bus he was driving was quickly swarmed by Blues fans, with footage of the incident going viral on social media.Supporters could be seen surrounding the bus to taunt Isaac with chants as several fans held up their phones to film him.They also banged on the side of the bus before some fans attempted to open the driver’s window.Isaac appeared dejected as he watched on from the driver’s seat in his Liverpool shirt.Reflecting on the incident, the 21-year-old told Talk: “I saw the funny side of it when I was watching the videos, but when I was sitting in that cabin at that time, it wasn’t so funny. “I was holding the window shut because the window on the driver’s side is meant to lock from the inside but it didn’t, so I was literally holding it shut. “You can see on the video there I’m talking to someone who’s opened it from the outside briefly and then I’m holding it shut afterwards.”However, the driver has now been sacked by the contractor who had hired him for the job.He was dismissed with immediate effect on Monday for a ‘serious breach’ of company policy.The breach related to failing to follow uniform rules by wearing a Liverpool shirt.Estevao sent the Chelsea faithful into wild celebrations with his winning goalGettyTalk have reached out to the contractor for comment.Isaac added he had not been aware of the route he would be taking before his shift and had not known he would pass Stamford Bridge.Meanwhile, he said a bus controller had seen his clothing but did not comment on it.“I hadn’t actually known the route I was going on,” Isaac added. “Literally, I just did it on the day.“I put the t-shirt on first thing in the morning, it was literally the first clean t-shirt I had.”Liverpool were beaten 2-1 by Chelsea after a dramatic stoppage time winner from Estevao.Match StatsThe Brazilian came off the bench to score in the 95th minute, inflicting a third successive defeat in all competitions on the Premier League champions.Chelsea had earlier taken the lead through Moises Caicedo after just 14 minutes.Cody Gakpo levelled for the visitors in the second half, only for Estevao to snatch all three points for Enzo Maresca‘s side.The result saw Arsenal leapfrog their title rivals at the top of the table heading into the international break.Liverpool now sit second in the table, one point behind the Gunners after seven matches.
