I like savage Jerry,” one fan wrote on X.“Wow, something Jerry did I actually support?! That’s gotta be a first,” another said.“I’m no Jerry Jones or Cowboys fan, but this is funny. You can tell it was all in fun,” a third claimed.“Sometimes you just gotta love Jerry,” a fourth said.Jones appeared to flip off Jets fans at MetLife Stadium on SundayThe Cowboys owner was later seen waving and pointing at other crowd membersOthers, though, weren’t so amused.“Classless, to say the least,” one fan suggested.“Wow, that is so rude and not good sportsmanship,” another added.“That’s disgusting….smfh!” a third said.Jones sets record straight after $250k finePer NFL.com, Jones has been fined $250k over the incident. He is reportedly expected to appeal it.On Tuesday, Jones addressed the incident.“That was unfortunate,” he said on 105.3 The Fan, per The Athletic’s Jon Machota.“There was a swarm of Cowboys fans out in front — not Jets fans, Cowboys fans. The entire stadium was brimming with enthusiasm of Cowboys and certainly late in the game.”Jones added: “(The gesture) was inadvertent on my part because that was right after we made our last touchdown, and we were all excited about it. There wasn’t any antagonistic issue or anything like that. I just put up the wrong show on the hand. That was inadvertently done. I’m not kidding. If you want to call it accidental, you can call it accidental. But it got straightened around pretty quick. I had a chance to look at it. It got straightened out pretty quick, but the intention was ‘thumbs up,’ and basically pointing at our fans because everybody was jumping up and down excited.”Prescott tunes out noise as Cowboys win on roadWhile Jones was making headlines in the stands, with four more TDs against the Jets on Sunday, Cowboys QB Prescott continued his impressive start to the season.Through five weeks, he has thrown for 1,356 yards, the second most in the league — behind only Los Angeles Rams star Matthew Stafford.Prescott left the field to ‘MVP’ chants against the Jets following another big gameGettyPrescott’s 10 passing touchdowns are the third-most so far, behind only Jared Goff (12) and Stafford (11).Following the win in New York, Prescott was greeted with chants of ‘MVP!’ as he left the field. The NFL’s highest-paid quarterback, though, isn’t fussed about individual accolades.“I mean, my ears work,” Prescott said, when asked about the shouts.NFL's Greatest......Ranking the top 10......Quarterbacks of all-time – Can anyone better Tom Brady?Wide receivers of all-time – Does Randy Moss or Jerry Rice come out on top?Running backs of all-time – Stacking Jim Brown, Barry Sanders, Walter Payton, Emmitt Smith and moreTight ends of all-time – How does Travis Kelce compare?“So I heard it, but I didn’t hear it.“It’s Week 5.
