According to recent reports, UEFA just approved that European clubs can play official league games outside Europe. Like… Barca vs Villarreal in Miami, AC Milan vs Como in Australia, that’s a real thing now. Honestly, I get both sides. Yeah, it’s cool for fans abroad to finally watch their favorite teams live, but come on, football is supposed to be local. It’s about the community, the chants, the people who’ve been there every week for decades. Moving games halfway across the planet just for money kinda kills the soul of it. I know clubs are broke and need new markets, but still… this feels wrong. At what point does football stop being football and become just another global brand? What do you all think smart move or total sellout? submitted by /u/rollerguy6913 [link] [comments]
