In 1983, Howard Gardner came up with the theory of multiple intelligences, proposing that there are nine main types: linguistic, logical-mathematical, visual-spatial, bodily-kinesthetic, musical, interpersonal, intrapersonal, naturalistic, and existential. Those with linguistic intelligence have a strong ability to use words and are great at memorization. Those with logical-mathematical intelligence are good at reasoning, analysis, and pattern recognition. Those with visual-spatial intelligence are good at visualizing and often have strong directional skills. Those with bodily-kinesthetic intelligence are strong performers and have great motor control. Those with musical intelligence pick up easily on patterns, rhythm, and sound. Those with interpersonal intelligence can understand and relate to others easily. Those with intrapersonal intelligence are aware of their own emotions, feelings, and motivations. Those with naturalistic intelligence are more in tune with nature and the environment. Those with existential intelligence have the ability to see the bigger picture and create achievable goals. The theory proved that intelligence isn’t a one-size-fits-all. Everyone possesses every type of intelligence, but some are stronger than others. Your strongest intelligence type determines how you process information and interact with the world around you.Want to learn more? For more information about intelligence types, check out these resources:https://www.uthsc.edu/tlc/intelligence-theory.phphttps://www.simplypsychology.org/multiple-intelligences.htmlYou Might Also LikeReferences
