No delay in Part II textbook distribution: Minister

Minister for General Education V. Sivankutty has denied any delay in distributing part II of school textbooks to students.The Minister, in reply to a question by U.A. Latheef, T.V. Ibrahim, Najeeb Kanthapuram, and Manjalamkuzhi Ali in the Assembly on Wednesday said the State Council of Educational Research and Training (SCERT) had published the schedule for teaching part II of the new textbooks as a ‘scheme of work.’ According to it, some textbooks have to be taught from October middle and others from November. Directions had been given to all teachers in this regard.He observed that the General Education department had not received any complaint about delay in textbook distribution from teachers’ organisations, students’ organisations, parents, or students.Textbooks had been distributed to students in time the past four years. Even the new textbooks for classes I to X that had been introduced in phases over two years had been distributed in time, he said.Published - October 08, 2025 08:28 pm IST
