A 30-year-old woman was allegedly murdered by her husband in Venkannaguda hamlet of Aloor village, Chevella, on Tuesday night (October 7). Chevella police said the accused killed his wife after she refused to resume living with him.The victim, identified as V. Rajitha, a domestic worker from Patancheru in Sangareddy district, was allegedly strangled and bludgeoned to death by her husband, V. Jangaiah, 33, who works as a car driver. The incident was reported around 8:45 p.m.According to Chevella Inspector M. Bhoopal Sridhar, Rajitha was Jangaiah’s second wife, and the couple had been living separately for nearly two years due to marital disputes. “They were married around 15 years ago and had two daughters, aged 14 and 12,” he said.On Monday, Jangaiah tracked Rajitha to Patancheru and persuaded her to accompany him to Venkannaguda for a reconciliation meeting with village elders. “There when she refused to reconcile, the accused, under the influence of alcohol, strangled Rajitha and struck her head with a cement slab, killing her instantly,” the official explained.The accused was taken into custody by the Chevella police.
