Ubisoft Adds Two Classic RPGs To Game Pass

Thirty years ago, the first game in the Heroes of Might & Magic series was released. This week, Ubisoft celebrated that milestone by announcing that two of the classic Heroes of Might & Magic games are now available to PC Game Pass and Xbox Game Pass Ultimate subscribers.During Ubisoft's Heroes of Might & Magic 30th Anniversary Showcase, the publisher revealed that Heroes of Might & Magic II: Gold and Heroes of Might & Magic III: Complete have been added to Game Pass. After making the announcement, Ubisoft's (and former GameSpot editor) Chris Watters said, "I can think of no better way to teach a new generation the meaning of key words like throng, necromancy, and logistics."Ubisoft also revealed that the next game in the series, Heroes of Might & Magic: Olden Era, has been delayed to 2026. However, a demo is available now on Steam. This will be the franchise's first game since 2015, when Might & Magic Heroes 7 was released.The livestream also plugged the Heroes of Might & Magic: 30th Anniversary Retrospective book, which is available to preorder for $55 at Amazon ahead of its release on November 25.Recently, one of Xbox's original team members, Laura Fryer, called Microsoft's Game Pass price hike a "betrayal" of the trust that gamers had placed in the team. She also suggested that this Xbox console generation will "almost certainly going to be remembered first and foremost for Microsoft's greed."
