Written by Neetika JhaNoida | Updated: October 9, 2025 05:04 AM IST 2 min readAs many as 21 FIRs have been registered against hairstylist Jawed Habib, his wife, son and his associates following complaints of “investment fraud” running into crores of rupees.Police have identified at least 38 people who were allegedly defrauded through an investment scheme launched by Follicle Global, a company launched by the Habib family.According to police, Habib and others have been booked under sections 420 (cheating) and 506 (criminal intimidation) of the IPC.Asmoli Circle Officer Kuldeep Kumar said, “They launched an FLC coin and sold it with the promise that its value would increase with time. They had an entire investment structure in place. They also had an office in Sambhal.”According to police, the matter first came to light nearly 15 days ago when a man identified as Hilal complained against the hairstylist with the Sambhal SP Krishan Kumar Bishnoi.“When more people came forward with similar complaints, the SP ordered an investigation,” he said.The Raisatti SHO Bobinder Kumar said Habib duped people with the help of his associate, Saif-ul-Hasan. “Slowly the investment increased and more people in Sambhal started investing. Most businessmen in Sambhal do business in cash, and it was easier for Habib and his associates to dupe them,” he said. Sambhal SP Krishan Kumar Bishnoi said Habib, his wife and son are under investigation. “Javed Habib, his wife, son have been charged under relevant sections… it’s a fraud totalling Rs 5-7 crore.
