When you get drunk, you’re not how you usually are. The more I see it on other people, the more it makes me happy about the decision. “And the more I see how the people around me appreciate it, I love it,” he added when asked how he felt about this decision.”Allen Iverson has been in an on-off relationship with ex-wife Tawanna Turner since 1990.They divorced in 2013, but remain an important part of each other’s lives.“She’s happy he dropped the drinking because that was a big aspect of his life,” explained reporter Maurice DuBois at the end of the CBS segment. “Divorce did not agree with him,” added fellow journalist Gayle King.Iverson expanded on their relationship during an appearance on The Stephen A. Six months ago, I stopped drinking, and it was the best feeling in the world.“When I used to be a part of a party, I was the life of the party. She dealt with that for 35 years. And for her to be that strong, and the love for me, Steve, to put up with that, and everything outside of just that, turning into somebody that you’re not, being a person that she could not recognize, it was a lot, man.”Iverson revealed that his memoir set out to dispel mistruths that were doing the rounds.“With this book, you’re hearing it from the horse’s mouth.
