Carried on a golden palanquin by her staff and colleagues, Jain, accompanied by her two young daughters, was celebrated amid music and cheers during the farewell ceremony.The event marked the official handover to Seoni’s new collector, Sheetala Patle, while bidding adieu to Jain, who has now taken charge as commissioner of the Bhopal Municipal Corporation. She merged the Ladli Behan Scheme with the Atal Pension Yojana and supported primary schools by providing desks and benches through community participation programmes. Her time in office was widely lauded for promoting grassroots inclusion and prioritising public welfare.Born on 14 February 1989 in Srinagar, Jain grew up in a family with a strong Air Force background—her father a fighter pilot and her mother serving in the medical division. However, on a friend’s suggestion, she sat for the UPSC Civil Services Examination and cleared it on her first attempt, as per India Today reports. She earned a position in the IRS on her second attempt and finally joined the IAS in her third attempt, securing an impressive All-India Rank of 11 in 2014.Since joining the 2015-batch of the IAS in the Madhya Pradesh cadre, Sanskriti Jain has held several key administrative roles, including commissioner of Rewa Municipal Corporation, additional collector of Satna, SDM of Mauganj, and CEO of the district panchayats in Alirajpur and Narmadapuram.© IE Online Media Services Pvt Ltd
