Asus ROG Xbox Ally series India launch confirmed: See price, specs and pre-order benefits

(Image Source: Asus)Earlier this year, Microsoft partnered with Asus to launch the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X, two Windows-powered gaming handhelds. The company has now confirmed that both handhelds will be launched in India on October 16. Powered by the AMD Ryzen Z2 series processor, Asus says its newest gaming handhelds “deliver console grade performance in a compact ergonomic design.”Both handhelds come with a 7-inch 120Hz FullHD LCD screen with an anti-reflective coating and Corning Gorilla Glass Victus protection. These handhelds have a maximum brightness of 500 nits and also support AMD’s Freesync Premium technology, which helps with screen tearing.The ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X both have the same button layout as Asus’ previous generation handhelds. While the performance-oriented ROG Xbox Ally X is powered by the AMD Ryzen AI Z2 processor, the ROG Xbox Ally packs in the AMD Ryzen Z2 A processor.  The former comes with up to 24GB of RAM and 1TB of internal storage, while the latter has 16GB of RAM and up to 512GB of storage. Also, the ROG Xbox Ally X has hall effect triggers, whereas the ROG Xbox Ally comes with “impulse triggers”.In terms of connectivity, the ROG Xbox Ally X has one USB 4 port, one USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C port, a UHS-II microSD card reader and a 3.5mm combo headphone jack. As for the ROG Xbox Ally, you get two USB 3.2 Gen 2 Type-C ports in addition tto he microSD card reader and 3.5mm headphone jack.In case you are wondering, the ROG Xbox Ally X and the ROG Xbox Ally have 80Wh and 60Wh batteries and weigh 715 grams and 670 grams, respectively. With both handhelds, you get a 65W charger in the box.On the software side of things, the ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X come with Windows 11 Home out of the box. But instead of the familiar Windows desktop and taskbar layout, users will be greeted with a full-screen Xbox experience, which Microsoft claims reduces the performance overhead, thereby making it faster. The tech giant has also added the AI-powered Gaming Copilot to the Game Bar, enabling gamers to learn new skills, talk to others and more.Story continues below this adThe ROG Xbox Ally and the ROG Xbox Ally X are currently available for pre-order on Asus’ website, Asus and ROG Exclusive stores, Asus Eshop, Amazon, Vijay Sales and authorised Asus partners at a starting price of Rs 69,990 and Rs 1,14,990, respectively.
