Samsung is rolling out a new software update to the Galaxy S22, Galaxy S22+, and Galaxy S22 Ultra in India. It offers the much-awaited One UI 8.0 (Android 16), which brings a new user interface, as well as many new features, which we will discuss in a moment. Samsung offered this update first in Korea, then in Europe, and now the brand is rolling it out in the Indian market. The update is 3,228.89MB in size and carries firmware version S90xEXXUCGYIF (via Vrujesh Pulekar), as you can see in the screenshot below. If you have a Galaxy S22 series phone and live in India, you can update your phone to One UI 8 by going to Settings > Software update > Download and install. What upgrades does One UI 8 bring?As for the upgrades One UI 8 brings, you get a lot. For starters, there's a slightly redesigned Quick Panel, which looks more polished. Now Bar can now show updates about stocks. Now Brief can now read summaries aloud. There’s a completely revamped DeX that offers orientation settings, the ability to add widgets on the desktop, move windows from the phone screen to the monitor and vice versa, and much more. You can get a new layout for split-screen multitasking, which is easier to use.Plus, One UI 8 brings new Alarm, Calendar, My Files, Notes, Quick Share, Reminder, and Samsung Internet apps that offer a new design as well as more features. You can check out the complete list of features here, or watch them out in our video above. However, note that all those features may not be available on the Galaxy S22 series. On a related note, Samsung is also developing One UI 8.5. Based on Android 16, it will be the last One UI update for the Galaxy S22 lineup.
