I was going to comment that the people who I have met like this person being described, have all had some sort of addiction be it drugs or alcohol. Super friendly when they are buttering you up and then passive aggressive to just straight up aggressive when you turn them down, though some throw in a sob story to guilt trip you for a while as well.
