Galaxy A16, Galaxy M16 get the One UI 8 update in more regions

Samsung released the One UI 8.0 (Android 16) update to the Galaxy A16 and the Galaxy M16 last week (1, 2), which was much earlier than we expected. However, the brand had rolled it out only in its home country, South Korea. Well, the company is now offering the update internationally.Samsung is rolling out the One UI 8 update to the Galaxy A16 and the Galaxy M16 in India. The update for the former has firmware version A166PXXU5CYI8, whereas that for the latter has firmware version M166PODM3CYI9 (via Mohammed Khatri and Samsung Community).To update your Galaxy A16 and Galaxy M16 to One UI 8, go to Settings > Software update > Download and install. One UI 8 isn’t as big an update as One UI 7. It brings only a handful of upgrades, but these changes make a significant impact on day-to-day life. Here’s what you get:In the Calendar app, when you are creating an event, you can now switch between Reminder and Event.Samsung DeX is now based on Android 16’s Desktop Mode, offering a totally new user interface as well as new features, such as the ability to change the orientation of the screen, add widgets to the desktop, and much more.Galaxy AI’s Drawing Assist now offers five more styles: Art Nouveau, Insta Toon, Pop Art, Soft Illustration, and Webtoon.The Gallery app now offers a redesigned menu, which looks more polished. While viewing videos, it now offers an Instant Audio Eraser button that automatically removes unwanted noise from the video, saving you the hassle of going into the video editor to do it. Plus, you get Private Album.The My Files now app now offers a new home screen, which looks sleeker.In the Notes app, when you add an audio to a note, it now offers an Instant Audio Eraser button.Now Bar can now give you updates about stocks (with help from Google Finance).Now Brief can now read the summary aloud and offers new card types, including parking spot reminder and YouTube snippetQuick Panel now offers a slightly new designWhen you select Quick Share from Quick Panel, you will now see it in full screen.
