A total of 9,085 candidates qualified for the written test for the CDS 2 examinations and advanced to the interview round.According to the official notification, the UPSC CDS 2 exam was scheduled for September 14, 2025, and was held in three shifts: 9 am to 11 am, 12:30 pm to 2:30 pm, and 4 pm to 6 pm. The UPSC CDS 2 exam serves as a gateway for recruiting officers into the Indian Armed Forces, including the Army, Navy, and Air Force.Candidates are advised to keep in mind that there will be a penalty for incorrect responses in the Objective Type Question Papers, as negative marking is applicable. The Union Public Service Commission (UPSC) will compile a list of candidates who secure the minimum qualifying marks in the written examination, as determined at the Commission’s discretion.Those selected for training receive a monthly stipend of Rs 56,100. Upon successful completion and commissioning as a Lieutenant, the basic pay remains Rs 56,100 per month. In addition to the basic salary, the overall compensation package includes Military Service Pay, Dearness Allowance, House Rent Allowance, Transport Allowance, and Special Allowance.Candidates who clear the UPSC CDS 2 examination are admitted to various prestigious institutions across the Indian Armed Forces. These include the Indian Naval Academy in Ezhimala, Kerala; the Air Force Academy in Hyderabad for the Pre-Flying Training Course; and the Officers Training Academy in Chennai (Madras) for both the 124th Short Service Commission (SSC) (Men) (Non-Technical) Course and the 124th SSC (Women) (Non-Technical) Course.
