Countless people rely on WhatsApp to communicate, so if the app stops working on any of their devices, it's obviously not an ideal scenario. Wear OS smartwatch owners, including those with a Samsung Galaxy Watch, found that the app wasn't working on their devices for no apparent reason. The good news is that the issue appears to have been resolved.A new update has been released to fix the issueSeveral users took to Reddit to highlight that WhatsApp wasn't working on their smartwatch. Launching the app would bring up an error message which said that the version of WhatsApp installed on their device had become “obsolete,” telling them to update the latest version from the Google Play Store. That would have resolved the issue, however, users were already on the latest version of the app, and they couldn't update the app because no new version was available. The app was partially usable, in that messages could be replied through the notifications on the watch, but chats remained unaccessible on the smartwatch. Some users figured out workarounds for the issue. Some had success with removing the app from their device and installing it again. Others joined the beta program for WhatsApp in the Play Store to download the beta version which worked without any issues.None of those workarounds are now required. A new version of WhatsApp was released on the Play Store earlier today and the affected users have now confirmed that the app is working without any issues on their smartwatch. Anyone still experiencing this issue now only needs to update the app via the Play Store. The post WhatsApp issue on Samsung’s Galaxy smartwatches seems to have resolved appeared first on SamMobile.
