By BMIn a shocking and emotional speech at the Uganda Journalists Association (UJA), Emmanuel Tumusiime, leader of the Forum for Integrity in Leadership (FIL), told reporters that he is a messiah sent by God to save Uganda from corruption, lies, and fake democracy.“God sent me to wake up this sleeping nation. Uganda is not dead, she is sleeping. I am here to resurrect her!” Tumusiime said. The room went quiet as Tumusiime shared deep personal pain including the death of his wife during COVID-19 and how he lost everything. But instead of giving up, he said this pain became his power.“They crippled me. They killed my wife. I walked away from my home. But God did not take my purpose. I am still here for a reason.”“Don’t Waste Your Time Voting”Tumusiime shocked the crowd even more when he said Uganda’s elections are not real and that people are wasting their time and money going to vote.“I did not vote. I knew the result before the election even started. Don’t waste your energy. The winner is already chosen.”He said elections in Uganda are a trick to make it look like democracy exists, but in reality, power never changes hands.“If people can’t remove a leader through voting, then why do we have elections? It’s just a show, a lie to the people and to the world.”“Money Has Spoiled Politics”Tumusiime called for all money to be removed from politics. He said politicians should not earn big salaries while doctors, teachers, and farmers suffer.“Politics is a service, not a business. Politicians should sit like board members, no salary, only small allowance. Give the real money to workers!”He also demanded that Uganda’s national budget be shared fairly among all regions not just controlled by a few powerful people in Kampala.“I’m Not After a Job — I Was Sent”Some people think Tumusiime is looking for a government job or a position. But he said he is not.“I don’t beg. I’m a cattle keeper. I have land and cows. My children are graduates. I don’t need a job. I speak because I was sent by God.”“My Life is Not Free”Tumusiime also spoke about how he feels like he is living in enemy territory, a country that doesn’t want him to speak the truth.“I’m not under threat, but I’m not free. This system is not friendly to people like me people who tell the truth.”A Message to the PresidentWhen asked what he wants from the president, Tumusiime didn’t ask for anything personal.“I don’t want anything from him. I want him to remove money from politics and share Uganda’s resources with all regions. If he really wants to lead, let him lead with truth.”Final Warning: Uganda Is SleepingTumusiime ended the press discourse with a final, thunderous statement:“Uganda is sleeping. She is not dead. I was sent to wake her up. I am not a politician like the rest. I am the one who was sent. And I am ready.” (For comments on this story, get back to us on 0705579994 [WhatsApp line], 0779411734 & 041 4674611 or email us at mulengeranews@gmail.com).
